On 6th August, 1962, the original day of Jamaican Independance, the current Jamaican flag was accepted.
On it is a gold coloured 'x' in the centre. This 'x' creates four small triangles ; two green and two black.
The colours are all symbolic to the people of Jamaica; gold symbolising the sun and the wealth of Jamaica, green symbolising hope and the agricultural richness and black symbolises strength, hardship and creativity.
On the Jamaican navy jack, is the national flag in the canton on a white Ensign
