The symbolism of the colours is dependant on points of view, but in general: green symbolizes the land and its fertility; yellow sybolizes the harmony and peace between the religious and ethnic groups within Ethiopia and red sybolizes the African blood spilled defending the land, it also represents power. These three colours are known as the Pan-African colours.
The yellow star (pentogram), on the blue disc represents Ethiopia's bright future and the yellow rays that it lets off are to sybolize the equality between Ethiopians regarless of gender, race or creed of all Ethiopians. |
