The Dominica national flag consists of a tri-coloured (yellow, black and white) cross on a green background. Over the centre of the cross is a red disc containing a ring of 10 green stars which inturn encompass a green and blue Sisserou Parrot.
The 3 colours that make up the cross signify the Holy Trinity, with the 10 stars representing the 10 parishes of the country. The Sisserou Parrat is the National bird of Dominica as it represents flying to greater heights and aspirations. The green used in the Dominica flag shows the rich and fertile land of the nation.
