The National flag of the Czech Republic is the same as the former Czechoslovak flag whereas the Slovak Republic decided apon a new flag.
Originally the flag consisted of a horizontal white band over a blue band which are the main colours of the Czech Coat of Arms. However as this was similar to the Polish flag a blue equilateral triangle was added along the hoist side in 1920. |
