Olympic flags of the Competing Nations

flag

Country: Cyprus Abbreviation: CYP
Notes: First introduced on August 16th 1960, the National flag of Cyprus consists of an orange silhoutte of the island with 2 olive branches all on a white background.

It is fairly obvious that the white and the olive branches represent peace, but the orange reflects the large amount of copper ore that  is present on the island.

Cyprus is the only nation that  has the  shape of its land mass depicted on  it's national flag.
