| Notes: |
The Cuban National flag was adopted in 1849 in the fight for liberation from Spanish rule under the leadership of Narciso López.
There are 3 horizontal blue bands representing the sea surrounding Cuba and the 3 old states of the island. These are interspersed by 2 white bands which represent the truth, purity and strength of their cause. On the hoist side there is a red equilateral triangle that symbolizes the blood that was spilt in the fight for freedom. In the middle of which is a white star that shows the purity and freedom of the Croation nation.
