The Croatian National flag consists of the Croation Coat of Arms which is situated in the centre of a horizontal tricolour flag.
The Coat of Arms was a later addition to the original 1848 flag.
The colours of red, white and blue are said to represent the 2 states of croatia from the middle age and the Kingdom of Slavenia. It has also been said that they represent the blood of the martyrs, peace and their devotion to God respectively.
