The Comoros National Flag was adopted in 2003 and comprises of a green equilateral triangle on the fly side, containing a white crescent moon and four white stars. The moon is an islamic symbol and the stars represent the four islands that form the nation - Mayotte, Mohéli, Anjouan and Grand Comore.
These four islands are also referenced by four horizontal bands that make up the rest of the Comoros National flag.
Yellow - Mohéli
White - Mayotte
Red - Anjouan
Blue - Grand Comore.
