A tricolour flag comprising of yellow, red and blue, the Colombian or Grand Colombian National flag was adopted on November 26th 1861.
The yellow of the flag is said to symbolize genoristy and the fertile lands of Colombia. The blue represents loyalty and the red symbolizes the blood of the Colombians lost in it's fight for independance from Spanish Rule.
