| Notes: |
Previously Botswana's National Flag consisted of a union jack charged in the middle with a laurel garland with white background with the letters HC (High Commission) under a crown, but on September 30th 1966 it started using it's current flag.
The colours of the current flag match that of the Coat of Arms with the blue representing the water and the white and black strips recognizing the racial harmony of countries inhabitants.
