Olympic flags of the Competing Nations

flag

Country: Swaziland Abbreviation: SWZ
Notes:

Adopted in 1968, this rectangular flag consists of four horizontal stripes; the top and bottom being blue with the centre stripe being red. The red stripe is bordered, top and bottom with a thin yellow stripe.  In the middle of the red stripe is an emblem of a shield and two spears symbolising protection from the country’s enemies.

The black and white colours of the emblem are symbolic of the way white and black people live in peaceful coexistence in Swaziland. Red stands for the battles of the past, blue for peace and stability and yellow for the resources the country has.
