| Notes: |
The flag of Seychelles consists of five oblique bands, (from left to right) blue, yellow, red, white and green. This is the third flag since the nation’s independence from Britain on June 29, 1976.
The colours red, white and green are those of the Seychelles People’s United Party, while the country’s Democratic Party is represented through the blue and yellow. Individually, the colours have different meanings. The blue represents the sea and the sky; yellow represents the sun, red stands for the unity of the people, white for justice and harmony, and green for the land. The way the bands of colour expand symbolise the Seychelles growth and vitality. |
