| Notes: |
The flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis was adopted on 19 September, 1983. The flag consists of African colours although the colours have different meanings.
The green colour stands for the Island's fertility, the red represents the struggles of the slaves, yellow is basically the sunshine, black represents the heritage of people in Africa and lastly there are two white stars which signify hope and liberty, not the two islands themselves as is commonly assumed.
