The Palestinian flag was originally designed by Sharif Hussein for the Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire in 1916. In 1917, it was raised as the flag of the Arab National Movement. On october 18th, 1948, the all-palestine Government re-adopted the flag in Gazgz and the arab league suqsequently recognised it as the flag of the palstinian people. It was finally adopted properly by the Palestine Liberation Oganisation (PLO) in 1988 as the flag of the state of palestine.

The flag is made up of three equal horizontal stripes (black, white and green) covered over by a red isosceles triangle.
