A blue red and green horizontal triband, the Azerbaijan National Flag encorporates the cresent moon of the Turkish flag confirming the strong bond these countries have forged as allies.
Also in the centre of the flag next to the crescent moon is an eight pointed star representing the eight Turkic tribes of Azerbaijan.
